May Challenge DT Reveal - Embossing - Blank Page Muse

Hello Ladies,
Here is my scrapbook layout that incorporates tons of rubber stamping. I stamped unto vellum to create a semi-transparent scene to add to the lower part of my vacation layout. I also created numerous nautical embellishments to enhance the theme. I hope you are inspired to add some stamping to your scrapbooking too.

Other Supplies:

  • embossing ink pad
  • embossing powder (clear /white / pink)
  • heat gun
  • colored pencils
  • acua ink pad
  • pattern paper 12x12"
  • vellum
  • craft knife
  • nette
  • pearl flourishes
  • shell embellishments
  • various size alphabet stickers
1.  Use embossing ink to stamp the mermaid image onto the lower right corner of vellum. (6x12") Add white embossing powder and heat set. (TIP: To prevent stray embossing powder from adhering to your project in unwanted places, simply swipe the surface to be embossed with an anti-static embossing cloth/pad before stamping the image.)

2. Repeatedly stamp the Angel's hair to create underwater plant, add white embossing powder, and heat set. Slightly vary the height and angle of each new impression to create random plant clusters.

3. Use a craft knife to carefully slice around some of the plants. This will allow for a photo to be slid underneath adding an interesting layered effect.

4. Use flesh colored pencils to carefully fill in and shade the mermaid's skin. Use pink to accentuate her cheeks. Blend with a cotton swab. (TIP: To intensify the color, it is helpful color on both sides of the vellum.)

5. Tear the top edge of the 6x12" vellum. Tear the top edge of a patterned paper and layer it underneath the vellum to create the underwater landscape/horizon.

6. Matte three photos and attach them in a cluster to the upper middle section of the layout varying the angle and slightly overlapping them. Tear along the top or bottom edge of some coordinating paper scraps and add them behind the photo cluster.

7.  Stamp various seashells onto white cardstock using embossing ink, apply soft pink embossing powder, and heat set. Stamp an anchor with acua ink add clear embossing powder, and heat set. Carefully, cut out your embellishments.

8. Adhere, the embossed shells by tucking them in and overlapping them among other elements. Add, a bit of nette, shell brads, shell embellishments, seahorse, pearl flourishes, and anchor charm. Finally, add a large title along the lower edge with coordinating letter stickers.
