Banner Layout

I fell in love with the mustard and cranberry background paper and it inspired me to use this new color combination on my layout. I used a row of clustered banners with softly chalked edges to embellish my vintage layout. Also, notice the paper feather I made with a piece of wire in it to give it a more natural look. Ribbon Embellishment

I used organza ribbon to tie a faux bow to embellish the wedding dress on my congratulations card.  I actually stamped the dress on iridescent white glitter card with permanent ink but it doesn't really pick up the glitter detail in the photo.  Visit Practical Scrappers to see what creative ways the Design Team have come up with for using ribbons.

Transparent Layout

Today the challenge for the Practical Scrappers Design Team is to use transparencies.  I used a 12x12 piece of acetate as the base to design my double sided layout. With careful planning, I designed 2 pages simultaneously with certain shared features in common. Black acrylic paint and flourishes stamped with black permanent ink are visible on both.  Designing on transparencies is a challenge but do give it a try.

Recycled CD

I used Alcohol inks to color a discarded CD to make a festive Christmas wreath card. The holly were stamped with black Staz-On ink. This is the perfect card for the technology geek in the family.
FYI- You can heat emboss on a CD and create stunning effects.

Baby Card

I am loving washi tape and just had to make some bunting for this new arrival card. The cloud & heart design is my favorite. The star background paper is recycled from craft packaging. Bakers Twine

I used bakers twine to make a frame to emphasize the photos and used brads to secure the corners. Check out all ways the ladies at Practical Scrappers have incorporated bakers twine into their projects.

Owls Made from Circles

These little cuties are made with various circle punches and patterned paper scraps. Mixing small prints creates a great patchwork effect. Each owl turns out with his own quirky personality. Be prepared because they are addicting and you won’t be able to only make just one!
