Creative Embellishments July Challenge

I completed the Creative Embellishments July Challenge. To participate one had to use some aspect of this image to be inspired, as well as, include stars on their layout. I used the aqua blue background, red, white blue, and stars & stripes for this layout.
First, I embossed the background paper with a star embossing folder and then swiped a white ink pad gently across the paper. To give the bunting flags at the top of the page a little more dimension, I used a craft knife to carefully slice the edges and curl each flag up. Having the rosette hang off the page made a nice point of interest,  I finished off by using a white gel pen to add faux stitching details around the edge

Sticky Snippets?

So what is a Sticky Snippet?
According to the Joggles website, "Sticky Snippets™ are the perfect mixed media blank canvas, accepting many types of media including paints, ink sprays, glimmer sprays, acrylic inks, glitter paste, and even light coats of gels and mediums. You are the creator; choosing color, pattern, and texture to suit your project. Whether the shapes are the focal element or are part of the background, you’ll create one of a kind work that reflects your unique style."

My play with this new product resulted in a gift box and coordinating card. To check out the tutorial visit the Joggles Blog HERE

Sticky Snippets are sheets of white sticker that have shapes pre-cut.  They have been perfectly designed to accept all kinds of paints and sprays without becoming crinkled & warped. Joggles offers many different Sticky Snippet shapes and even has a large solid adhesive page with no pre-cut design so you can cut your own shapes by hand or put them through the die cutting machine. There are so many possibilities to make matching embellishments and wonderfully coordinated projects.
