Summer Daisy Friendship Card - Sin City Stamps

Hello Sin City Fans,
Today my post on the Sin City Blog is a Summer Daisy Friendship Card.  I used a beautiful daisy stamp that comes in the Flower Bird Sketches Rubber Stamp Set.  This is a perfect feminine card that can be used for a variety of occasions by simply changing the color scheme to fit the recipient.  I aimed to create a country kitchen & quilt style patchwork card suitable for a woman who is not a fan of bling like gems & glitter.
Come on over to the Sin City Blog for the complete tutorial.  HERE

Supplies:
1. Flower Bird Sketches Rubber Stamp Set (Sin City Stamps)
2. Art Journaling #2 Rubber Stamp Set (Sin City Stamps)
3. watermark ink pad & black ink pad

Nautical Challenge - Simon Says Stamps

This weeks fun challenge from Simon Says Stamps is super easy to join. Cruise along with Simon Says Stamps and create something inspired by a nautical theme relating to ships, ocean, sailing, etc.  When I noticed this striped paper in my scrap drawer, I knew it would be a perfect fit.  I find it extremely helpful to select the pattern paper first and then color the stamped image using coordinating colors.  Then I did a quick bit of water coloring and cut it into a tag shape.  It didn't seem finished until I added the row of red brads and laced them with jute.  Aren't Penny Black hedge hogs stamps simply the cutest?

You can learn about the Monday Challenge guidelines... HERE.
Check back with me tomorrow when I share one more nautical inspired card.

Nautical Challenge - Simon Says Stamps

Come join the Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge.  It is super easy to join in.  This weeks challenge is to follow a nautical theme relating to sailors, ships, or navigation.  Cruise along with Simon Says Stamps and join them on an adventurous voyage.  Keep in mind the many possibilities: a cruise ship vacation, boating on the lake, or sailing across one of the seven seas.  Those are just a few ideas to get you thinking.  Here is my card: Mesmerizing Mermaid of the Deep.  Also, I am joining the Artistic Stamper Creative Challenge "Anything Goes."  To join in all you have to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure to include some rubber stamping.

I had never tried heat embossing onto silver twinkle mirror card. I love all the shimmer and there was none of the mess and headache caused from the mess of regular loose glitter. Then I took my circle punches to create all the various bubbles.  The watery background was created with alcohol inks which were perfect for creating more bubbly texture.  I am so very pleased with it.

You can find out the guidelines about how to enter Simon Says Challenge HERE.

Sin City Stamps "Quick Ideas" - Brick Background

\
This is my first "Quick Ideas" to share with you.  I made a background with ink, spray mist, and one stamp.  The background was so quick to do.  Splattering gold mist really worked well to create that grunge look. Micro beads were a fun addition that gave the card some much needed texture.

Other Supplies:  blue distress ink pad, gold spray mist, black ink pad, flower stamp, embossing powder, heat gun, gold micro beads, liquid adhesive, 6x6" cardbase

You can find out all about my project HERE.

Sympathy Card - Sin City Stamps

Hi Ladies & Gents,
To add dimension and depth to the flowers, I used primarily a white colored pencil to color the petals. Then I used a bit of purple to add contrast and make the flowers pop. It is a simple yet sophisticated sympathy card. I hope you give this technique using white colored pencil a try and stamp on colored card stock rather than white. Don't forget to share your creations on the Sin City Fan Page.
You can find my complete tutorial HERE.

Supplies:

1. Flower Bird Sketches Rubber Stamp Set
2. Art Journaling #2 Rubber Stamp Set
3. watermark ink pad & gold ink pad
4. white embossing powder
5. heat gun
6. colored pencils
7. white card base 6x6"
8. yellow & lavendar cardstock
9. chalk
