Easel Cards - FotoBella

Hello Crafty Friends,
Here are my second projects of the month featuring the glorious Graphic 45 kit "Off to the Races." I hope you enjoy my two easel cards. I did one super feminine card with a touch of lace and the second one was more masculine by avoiding the rose designs. So it is good to note that with what may appear to be a feminine kit, it is possible to make manly projects from this kit as well.

Maculine Cards - FotoBella

Hey There,
If you know someone who is crazy for horses then this is the kit for you. This equestrian theme kit is cram packed with horses racing & jumping.  For the true equestrian lover, there are unlimited possibilities. I began by selecting a card from the ephemera pack. Everything coordinates so easily, it is nearly impossible to go wrong when selecting background papers and mattes. I added small embellishments by selecting ornate metal charms and coordinating chipboard accents.  Truly amazing! Let's go "Off to the Races!"  Find out all about my cards HERE.

If you prefer, you can downplay the horse theme a bit if you focus on the abundance of roses and the stunning woman adorned with incredible hats & attire.  Beautiful intricate patterns and elegantly dressed people intermix to the perfect proportion to create a luxurious feast for the eyes as only Graphic 45 can achieve. Stay tuned, later this month I'll be back to share my very feminine cards created from the Graphic 45 - Off to the Races kit.

  • thread
  • 3D foam tape
  • bracket die
  • die cutting machine

If the Broom Fits - Quick Ideas

I wanted to make a non-scary & non-creepy Halloween card. The "Witch Silhouette" image was the perfect answer.  I layer multiple stamps and then colored just the hat and broom as prominent features.  I hope you notice that my cute little gem covered spider dangles from a sparkly thread in the lower right corner.  So it can swing freely when the card is handled for an extra surprise.

Witch Moon Card - Blank Page Muse

I just love silhouette forms and this witch is simply perfect!  I masked the moon, layered images, and created the sky by blending distress inks.  I think a mildly creepy moonlit night background was just what the sexy silhouette needed.  You will find the complete tutorial over on the Blank Page Muse Blog.

Mechanical Bird Card - Blank Page Muse

Welcome to my bright and colorful semi-steampunk card. I love the look of gears and the mechanical bird image by Blank Page Muse but I'm not always a fan of the dark and dreary colors that are typical of steampunk.  "Keep on Moving" seems like a good title for it.

Party Time! - Ladybug Bags

So my niece just celebrated her 1st Birthday, you know what that means...it's time to PARTY & decorate. Four months ago my sister told me she chose a ladybug themed party and I was bestowed the title of Chief Decorator.

Here is the gift bag all the little kiddos went home with containing a book, a toy, & snack.  I folded down the top of the sack and punched 2 holes in the center.  Then I cut a bit of black cardstock and secured them together with white curly ribbon. Therefore, they were safe for little ones. The final finishing touch was simply tying on a thank you tag and curling the ribbons. They looked adorable sitting on the table by the door and were so convenient to hand out when the guests left. Even better they served a dual purpose: a party decoration and a thank you gift for guests.  Success!

Adventure Begins Layout - FotoBella Reveal

Here is the big reveal of my first project for the FotoBella Design Team.  I used the Imagine Kit by Graphic 45 because of the beautiful pastel colors of soft rose blush, creamy yellows, and subtle shades of blue.  In the spirit of adventure and discovering the new lands of motherhood, I included many vintage hot air balloons.  To add texture to the layout, I included a worn metal charm, and soft touches of ribbons tied into faux bows.
