Mixed Media Vintage Butterfly Cards - White Rose Crafts Guest Designer

Today on the White Rose Craft Blog I am sharing a step by step mixed media project. Don't let that phrase "mixed media" scare you away. I'm simply using multiple craft mediums beyond just paper on my project. Let me show you how I easily added a pop of color to some patterned paper to create a great focal point for the stamped image. I enjoyed the result so much I just couldn't stop and I created a second variation on the first design with the same elements in different colors. You can find the tutorial and see the second card HERE.

Hope & Faith - White Rose Crafts Guest Designer

During June & July I am going to be a Guest Designer for White Rose Crafts and I am so excited to share my friendship card. It features a beautiful embossing folder which easily created the elegant cross. I kept the design fairly simple by including a delicate floral die cut simply peeking out from behind the cross. My favorite part of the card is the amazing Lemoncraft Epoxy Button. I really could use one on every project I make. There are many different styles & colors available and I'm sure you will love them as much as I do and have a really hard time selecting a set. I hope you are inspired to make some of your own cards of encouragement to have on hand for a friend in the midst of tough times.

You can see the blog post about this project on the White Rose Blog HERE.

Only You - White Rose Crafts Guest Deisgner

I am very excited as this is my first post as a new Guest Designer for White Rose Crafts. I will be sharing six projects during the months of June & July. I worked with a lovely selection of BoBunny pastel papers but my favorite product was the Couture Creations Floral Die which was especially intricate and lovely. Because I love feminine and floral projects, you will certainly see me use it again. My first project is a card for the June Sketch Challenge.

Ideas Layout

Look at that sweet little face...if you only I could tell you the stuff my nephew comes up with. IDEAS was the perfect title because he would use the phrase "I have an idea" which only meant trouble was to follow or possibly the plan of a three-year-old trying to negotiate his terms of his deal.  Believe me...nothing can hold him back!

Love on the Wire Card - Blank Page Muse

I am sad to say this will be my last project for the Blank Page Muse Design Team.  It has been a great blessing the last year & a half to work with such high quality stamps and fabulous images.  Here is my last card Love on the Wire.  I created the background with layers of overlapping masking tape which adds a beautiful subtle wrinkly texture. The paints accentuate all the crevices and is a very effective way to create an distressed look. I hope you will try this simple technique to create a textured background because I'm sure you will love it too. The complete tutorial can be found HERE.

Vintage Patriotic Hot Air Balloon Card - Blank Page Muse DT

I always find it a pleasant surprise to find a kinetic element on a card. My hot air balloon is free hanging and; therefore, can swing when the card is handled. Challenge yourself to add something a bit unexpected to your project like a hinged element, wiggly eyes, or a shaker filled with sequins. All this month you will find more inspiration from the design team about clever ways to add movement to your projects. You can find the complete tutorial for this card at the Blank Page Muse Blog HERE.
