Sneak Peek - Elegant Chipboard Cards - Guest Designer

Hi Gals,
I love chipboard die cuts because they provide a strong focal point for a card. They are so intricately cut and are a very versatile product. I love the texture and detail it gives a project. Here is a little sneak peek of my elegant cards. You can see more of them on the White Rose Crafts Blog HERE.

Jeweled Seahorse Card - The Robin's Nest DT

I really enjoyed using this canvas from The Robin's Nest as a project base instead of card stock. Because it has a plastic-like texture, moisture from mists/paints do not warp it. Before coloring the canvas, I added a texture to it by putting it in an embossing folder.  I find all underwater creatures magical because of how they move and glide effortlessly. I hope you enjoy my magical seahorse creation.  The step by step tutorial can be found HERE.
My card is submitted into the following challenges...

Supplies:
Creative Dew Drop Canvas - Artsy Seahorse
Sea Glass Tear Drops
Water Dew Drops
Raindrops Dew Drops
spray mists (blue & green)
paint brush
Glossy Accents transparent medium
glitter glue

Watermelon Layout

This is my first project for the Robin's Nest Design Team.  If you have photos of children eating watermelon, then this idea is perfect for you.  I must warn you now... be prepared for a cuteness overload!  I am celebrating my sweet niece and her aunt that made the adorable Cabbage Patch Kid hat.  I used rubber stamps to make the watermelon embellishments so they would perfectly match. The step by step tutorial can be seen HERE.

This layout is submitted into the following challenges...

Supplies:

Black Tear Drops
liquid adhesive
12x12 patterned paper
7 photos
scalloped border

embellishments - arrow, flag, metal word accent

Sneak Peek- Shabby Chic Treasure - Guest Designer

I must confess I am not always very good at following sketches or keeping a CAS design. I still follow the basic structure but my creativity tends to wonder from the path. Even though I added more details and embellishments, the oval focal point is on the lower left with a sentiment and a vertical stripe. The proportions of the design look different as I used a square card base.  Here is a sneak peek of my card Shabby Chic Treasure.

So don't feel too confined to follow a sketch challenge exactly. Just allow as much or as little as you need to guide your design while still allowing your originality to soar. You can find more great inspiration on the White Rose Craft Blog HERE.
