Super Climber Layout - The Robin's Nest DT

My nephew Colin has his fundamental origin in pushing his limits to explore the extremes of any situation.  His motto is "Bigger, Faster, Louder, Stronger." A true all American boy so I had to select red white, & blue which also complimented his Super Man t-shirt. I love these photos of him in action; climbing to the top of a hexagonal rope play-set. Aren't the wooden transportation embellishments the cutest thing ever?

Oh boy, I must confess I find it a bit challenging to create little boy themed layouts because I can't use my favorite colors or items like flowers and butterflies. When I browsed through my wooden shapes, the transportation items caught my eye.  I like the look of the natural raw wood so I didn't paint them but something was still missing. Instead I added a pair of Dew Drops to each car to create realistic headlights or tail lights.  Dew Drops are the perfect finishing touch especially when a rhinestone or glitter is just too feminine.

Birthday Message

I was inspired by the science/technology themed moodboard to include the typewriter and make a more masculine birthday card.  I love how the argyle looks over the subtle text background.

Funny Robot Card

In honor of "back to school" time let me present my cute robot card.  He looks like he is about to burst out and dance.  He is full of personality and I can't wait to use him again.

Transparent Card Front

I had forgotten about the technique of having a transparent card front. Now I'm inspired to try more of this style. It is fun to plan the layers.  Although, it does make it a bit tricky to sign the card. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in gold.  To create the flowers, I stamped onto watercolor paper and painted them. I added gold micro beads to the front flower for more realistic dimension.

CAS Rainbow Cards - The Robin's Nest DT

Simple can be a very effective strategy.  I love the rainbow color order.  White space is always a challenge for me as I usually fill every part of a project with tons of layers. Here is a rare attempt to keep in clean & simple.  The full tutorial can be found HERE.  I hope you enjoy my CAS cards.

Dew Drops are transparent gems and will change color
depending on the color of the paper you attach them to.
